Description: This data set contains areas in Wisconsin where use of atrazine is prohibited based on well water sample results and DATCP investigations around these well sites. Atrazine is a pesticide used to control weeds in cornfields. Atrazine leaches into groundwater and can affect the health of humans if consumed in certain quantities over a lifetime. DATCP defines and administers these areas, called atrazine prohibition areas (Pas), through provisions of Chapter ATCP3 30, Wis. Adm. Code. This data set contains all of the atrazine prohibition areas defined by a map in the rule. The Lower Wisconsin River Valley is NOT included in this data set because it is defined by statutory language, instead of by a map, in chapter ATCP 30, Wis. Adm. Code. Last updated spring 2011.

Description: This data set contains a representation of where the use of atrazine is prohibited in the Lower Wisconsin River Valley. Adm. Code. The actual boundary of the Lower Wisconsin River Valley is defined by statutory language, instead of by a map, in chapter ATCP 30, Wis. Adm. Code.
Description: The feature class was created by joining the Farm_to_School_<date>.mxd file found on O:\Projects\DAD\FARM_TO_SCHOOL to the WI_Schools_F2S_Programming_06_04_14.xls spreadsheet provided by DAD. The three distinct school district layers in the MXD were merged into a single layer.
Description: Boundaries of Wisconsin cities, villages and towns split at county boundaries, including federal Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) and state codes. See feature class WI_CITY_VLLG_TWN for CVTs not intersected at county boundaries. DATCP created then modified this layer, in coordination with DNR, on 3/28/2013, from a feature class obtained from Wisconsin DOT on 8/2/2011. Specifically, DATCP and/or DNR corrected various missing or errorneous code values. DATCP updated this feature class again on 6/26/2013. Specific modifications include fixes to the boundaries of the Village of Gratiot and the City of Shullsburg (both in Lafayette County) based on errors discovered during a Ag Enterprise Area (AEA) petition review. DATCP based its 6/26/2013 fixes on data received from Calumet, Outagamie and Lafayette County LIOs. In January 2014, DNR staff updated the MCD layer to reflect the 2013 annexation of a portion of Monroe County into the Village of Rockland in La Crosse County and the finalized 2013 change in the extent of the Village of Harrison in Calumet and Outagamie Counties. Edited 12/2014 by DATCP to enforce topology rules (no gaps/overlaps).

Description: Environmental Enforcement Specialists perfom investigations related to feed, fertilzer and pesticides at agrichemical facilities throughout the state. Since the distribution of these facilities varies throughout the state, the individual territories can vary greatly in size. The individual territory boundaries follow existing features like roads and county boundaries.
